Pull up a chair.
Thinking about it, but not sure?
Almost everyone comes alone
You won't be the odd one out — that's simply how these evenings work. You're greeted at the door and shown how the night runs before anything starts.
Nobody gets your number
We never pass your details to another guest. If two people pick each other we say so quietly, and what happens next is entirely your call.
Every age, every kind of person
We run separate evenings by age group, so you're always among people at a similar stage — from twenties through to sixty-plus.
About Island Chemistry
Fed up with dating apps?
We bring Isle of Wight singles together for relaxed, face-to-face evenings where you can actually meet, talk, and see if there's chemistry. Friendly, informal, and designed to take the awkwardness out of meeting someone new.
Everyone walking in is in exactly the same boat.

Meet your host
Eve
Hi, I'm Eve, the face behind Island Chemistry.
I created Island Chemistry because I wanted to offer a fun, relaxed way for people to meet in real life — away from dating apps, endless messaging and awkward first dates.
I know walking into a singles event can feel a little daunting, especially if you're coming on your own, so my job is to make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
I'll be there throughout the evening to host, keep everything running smoothly and, most importantly, make sure everyone feels comfortable and has a good time.
You never know who you might meet… sometimes it just takes a little chemistry.
How the evening runs
Five steps, no swiping
Honestly — it’s far less daunting than it sounds.
- 1
Arrive
Come along from 7pm and grab a drink at the bar.
- 2
Get your number
A quick briefing and your own number, ready for a 7:30 start.
- 3
Mini dates
Around five minutes with each person, then a minute to move along.
- 4
Mark your matches
You privately note anyone you'd like to see again. Nobody sees your card.
- 5
See if there's chemistry
If you both chose each other, we tell you privately. The rest is up to you.
Guests privately mark who they'd like to see again. If two people choose each other, we let them know privately. We never give guests' contact details to other attendees — mutual matches decide for themselves whether to swap numbers.
Book your place
Request your ticket
Ready to join us? Request your ticket below. Once approved, you'll receive a payment link to secure your place. Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been received.
Eve reads every single one of these herself.
To help us create the best possible mix of guests at each event, tickets are available by request.
Complete the short form below with your name, age, mobile number, email address and a recent photo of yourself.
We'll check availability within the approximate age range and the current balance of the event. If we have a suitable space, we'll send you a link to complete your ticket purchase.
Please don't worry — this isn't a dating profile or an audition. The information simply helps us manage numbers and create a well-balanced, enjoyable evening for everyone.
There's no event open for requests at the moment. Register your interest below and we'll let you know as soon as the next date is announced.
Paying & cancelling
Nothing is charged when you request a ticket. You only pay if we offer you a place, using a private link we email you. Your place is confirmed once that payment goes through.
If we offer you a place, the link is valid for 48 hours. After that the place goes back to other people waiting.
Once paid, tickets are non-refundable if you change your mind or can't attend. If Island Chemistry cancels, you'll receive a full refund or can transfer to another event.
Not everyone who asks can be offered a place, simply because each event runs to a set number of guests in each group. If we can't fit you in this time, we'll say so and let you know about the next one.

Questions people ask
Yes — and almost everybody does. That's rather the point. You'll be welcomed at the door, given your number and introduced to the format before anything starts, so nobody is left standing about wondering what to do.
Whatever you feel good in. Most people go for smart casual — the sort of thing you'd wear to the pub with friends. There's no dress code and nobody is judging.
No. We never pass your contact details to another guest. If you and somebody else both choose each other, we'll let you both know privately, and it's entirely up to the two of you whether you swap details.
No. Your card is private and is only ever seen by us. We announce matches, never rejections — if someone picked you and you didn't pick them, they simply hear nothing. Cards are securely destroyed after the event.
That's a match. We let you both know privately after the event, and from there it's your call. There's no obligation to do anything at all.
Of course. We hold our events at Island venues with a bar, so you're very welcome to have a drink and settle in. We just ask everyone to drink sensibly and to have thought about how they're getting home.
The age ranges are approximate, so a year or two either side is absolutely fine. If you're a good deal outside the range, do drop us a message before booking — we'd rather find you an event where you'll meet people you click with.

Register interest in future events
Tell us your age group and we'll let you know when a suitable Island Chemistry event is announced.
Important: Registering your interest does NOT secure a place or book you onto an event.
